How To Cook The Perfect Steak

The secret to a great steak is a combination of a quality cut, adequate preparation, grilling time and resting.

Here are our top tips for cooking the perfect steak every time.

1. Selecting a cut

Go for quality. Don't hesitate to ask your local butcher where their steak comes from and if the steak has won any awards. We recommend Stockyard Wagyu Kiwami - 2019's winner of Grand Champion Branded Beef of Show.

2. Preparation

About 20 minutes before grilling, remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let sit, covered, at room temperature.

3. Oil and season

Heat your grill to high, brush your steak on both sides with oil and season with salt and pepper.

4. Grilling

Place the steak on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, 4-5 minutes.

Turn the steak over and continue to cook for as long as per your personal preference below:
