Ekka Experience
The Royal Queensland Show, fondly known as the Ekka, is a large-scale annual event that celebrates the best of Queensland. Each August Ekka welcomes 400,000 people through the gates, 21,000 competition entries and 10,000 animals.
This year the Ekka will be held from August 9-17, 2025 with gates opening everyday from 9am. Plan your visit ahead through the Ekka website to ensure the best Ekka experience.

The Ekka is held at the Brisbane Showgrounds, 600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills.

Early Entry for Staff and Exhibitors
The Ekka welcomes 21,000 competition entries and 10,000 animals on ground each year.
For some competitors and exhibitors there can be earlier entry and delivery times to the Brisbane Showgrounds in the lead-up and during show.

Re-Entry Policy and Pass-Outs
Ekka tickets are available from the official Ekka website and this is the only place to purchase official Ekka tickets. 2025 Ekka tickets will be released soon.

Valid Ekka ticket holders may be granted a 'pass out' that allows them to leave and re-enter the Brisbane Showgrounds on the same day, subject to the conditions of this section. For more information and other FAQs click here.
