First time at Ekka?

First time at Ekka? Here’s how to do it right!

The Royal Queensland Show, affectionately known as the Ekka, is an iconic part of Brisbane’s history. Whether you’re young or young at heart (or somewhere in between) there is something for you at the Ekka. A place where country spirit meets city heart, Ekka is a place of unforgettable moments creating those magical lifelong memories.

Have a Strawberry Sundae

The Strawberry Sundae is an Ekka classic for a reason. This delicious sweet treat dates back to the 1950s and promotes our amazing farmers, while providing an iconic sweet staple of the Show.

See the Show from new heights

Take a trip on one of the ferris wheels at the Show to see the grounds from a whole new perspective. A time to sit down, relax and enjoy show.

Visit the Animal Nursery

The Animal Nursery is a favourite for all ages. Have the chance to pat and feed animals all the way from the farm including puppies, piglets, chickens and lambs. With over 500 animals, you’re in store for a cuteness overload.

Snag a Showbag

Take a piece of the show home with you in a showbag from The Courier-Mail Showbag Pavilion. With more than 350 to choose ranging from Bluey to the Australian Women’s Weekly there truly is one for everyone. See the full list coming soon to our app and website.

Devour a Dagwood Dog

Nothing screams show like a dagwood dog! The nostalgic smell is enough to make you drool. You can also watch contestants demolish them in our Keppel Dagwood Dog Eating Competition.

Watch the Fireworks

There is no better way to finish off the night then by watch the Fireworks at the end of EkkaNITES. After over an hour of non-stop entertainment you'll finish the Ekka night on a high with the spectacular fireworks display.
