The scoop on Ekka life
Running since 1928, Show Camp is one of the Ekka’s longest-standing traditions — and this year, 20 Year Six students will become part of it as budding journalists.
Delivered by Brisbane Urban Environmental Education Centre, the program gives students a fully immersive experience, living at the Show and covering everything from agriculture to entertainment.
They’ll sharpen their skills in news writing, researching, interviewing, photography, video and podcasting — creating up to 40 stories to be published in the official Ekka Courier.
Students will also complete an online news writing course via the Learning Place, kickstarting their journalism journey with hands-on experience.
