Opera Queensland

Opera Queensland

A thrilling line up from Opera Queensland will feature star soprano Natalie Christie Peluso, who recently sang the title role in The Merry Widow and is soon to star in Opera Queensland’s stunning new collaboration with Circa in Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice, opening in October in QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre. Natalie will be joined by three of Opera Queensland’s favourite artists, coloratura soprano Katie Stenzel, mezzo-soprano Cassandra Seidemann and bass baritone Sam Hartley. Together they will share their favourite arias and ensembles from the world of opera and operetta, including Mozart’s beloved Farewell Trio from Così fan tutte, the Letter Duet from The Marriage of Figaro (which featured so memorably in The Shawshank Redemption) and the unforgettable Queen of the Night’s aria. The stirring Toreador’s Song and sultry Habanera from Bizet’s Carmen will contrast with the lovely Flower Duet from Lakmé and cheeky Gilbert and Sullivan including the Song of the Pirate King and Rose’s Etiquette Song, in a program sure to delight all ages and musical tastes.
