The magnificent open space of the Main Area invokes a sense of the spectacular. The venue is Brisbane Showgrounds’ most well-known and historically significant. With a capacity of 25,000, the Main Arena includes year-round naming rights featured in all RNA (including Royal International Convention Centre and Royal Showgrounds) communications.
This destination features an abundance of produce and dining options and is home to the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show Cooking Stage.

Boasting educational activities, interactive exhibits and championing the role of Agriculture in Queensland, The Agricultural Hall is also home to the historic Giant Vegetable Competitions and District Exhibits.
The Woodchop Arena is one of the feature destinations at Ekka, boasting significant branding opportunities and a captive audience across show. Home to one of the most iconic Ekka competitions, the internationally contested Woodchop and Sawing competition.
Located within the picturesque Old Museum precinct, the Community Stage boasts ‘Dancing in the Garden’, professional entertainers and engaging Horticultural presentations.
Located on the first floor of the Royal International Convention Centre, the Entertainment Stage is attended by thousands of guests each day of Ekka. It is home to the acclaimed Natural Fibres Fashion Parades and a variety of family entertainment.
Gourmet Plaza Stage
One of the busiest locations at Ekka, this stage boasts a variety of professional entertainers overlooking an abundance of diners from gates open to close.
Featuring the Ekka Cow Paddock and home of the Beef competition, this pavilion provides feature signage opportunities.
The Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show Cooking Stage, hosted by Dominique Rizzo with guests, celebrities and other chefs prepare and present eight sessions per day. The elegant oasis features produce from the prestigious Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show, along with other local produce.
Old Museum Precinct
Built for the RNA in 1891, The Old Museum is home to The Community Stage, Flower and Garden Exhibition and Quilts Across Queensland. Feature signage opportunities are available in this historic venue.
The Ekka Entertainment program is renowned as the best in the country, boasting world-class acts. Partnerships with entertainment features provide unique branding opportunities, TVC’s on large screens, print and digital advertisements and engaged Ekka audiences.
A world-class entertainment event, erupting in a 360-degree blaze of colour, music, thrilling performances and fireworks. Every night of Show, up to 30,000 people enjoy this Main Arena event, with large screens highlighting the action and our partners.
Back by popular demand, the Children’s Fireworks take place at 6.00pm and delight families with small children. A packed stadium enjoy this feature before the EkkaNITES show continues.
The sky is lit up for an impressive 15 minutes with thrilling fireworks. The culmination of each day, the fireworks are world-class and set hearts racing with choreographed light, sound and movement.
The much loved Animal Nursery is home to around 400 baby farmyard animals for families to meet, greet and cuddle, including lambs, calves, ducklings and goats.

Natural Fibres Fashion Parades
The longest-running, free fashion parades in Australia, the Natural Fibres Fashion Parades feature some of the most renowned fashion designers in Queensland and Australia, as well as the brightest emerging talents. With three parades per day, thousands of guests enjoy the spectacle every day.
Bush Poetry is a feature of Ekka and the Bush Poetry competition is a popular feature for budding performers and audience members alike.
Sheep Dog Trials
The Sheep Dog Trials entertain the crowd on the Main Arena during the day and prior to EkkaNITES. The Sheep Dog Trial Competition also provides partners an opportunity to take part in presentations.
The heart and soul of an Agricultural Show, partners of the many Competitions enjoy branding at the events, on print and digital competition schedules, signage at events and the opportunity to play an active role in presentations during show.
With over $90,000 in prize money, these popular events attract competitors from around Australia and New Zealand.
Ekka Beef Week
Held on the Main Arena the week prior to and first two days of Ekka, Ekka Beef Week includes Stud Beef, Led Steer and Prime Beef.
Paddock to Palate
Australia’s richest beef competition of its kind, attracting the nation’s top producers and showcasing quality stock. Includes feedlot competitions held throughout the year, with classes running from 70 to 370 days.
One of the largest showings of Dairy Cattle in Australia. The Dairy cows are judges on both display and milk quality.

Alpacas, Sheep and Angoras are displayed in the Animal Pavilion, while Merino Fleeces and Prime Lambs are also available for viewing.

The Poultry Pavilion is home to our feathered friends.
The Royal National and Agricultural Society works to provide students access to Queenland’s largest classroom. Partners enjoy aligning with these innovative programs, engaging with students and their families during shows and via associated digital and print communications.
Rural Discovery Day
Attracting 1200 students from Brisbane Schools to enjoy an interactive day of learning about the many aspects of agriculture in a fun and informative outdoor classroom.
Race Around Ekka
Visiting students complete a scavenger hunt around Ekka, learning key agricultural history and knowledge.
Student Made Cheese and Agricultural Sciences
Teachers and students learn the science behind producing cheese, fruit wine, cider, sake, ginger beer and fruit wine presenting their wares for judging.
ROYAL QUEENSLAND FOOD & WINE SHOW
This series of National Competitions have a commercial focus with the prestigious RQFWS Awards used in the marketing and sale of products. Experts in their field including chefs, winemakers, food scientists and growers are sourced from around Australia to maintain the competitions integrity and ensure we are awarding the best of the best.
Partners have opportunities to feature in industry and consumer marketing and advertising for events and at the presentations themselves.

RQFWS Grape Grazing by Night
Attracting 800 guests, Grape Grazing by night is the culmination and celebration of the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show. Guests taste over 1800 wine show entries, while dining on award winning produce. This event provides a smorgasbord of unique and memorable branding opportunities with a captive corporate audience.
FUTURE DIRECTIONS COMMITTEE
The Future Directions Committee is charged with running the Ekka Ball and the Young Farmers’ Challenge. Partners of Future Directions initiatives are supporting young leaders in agriculture and the future of the RNA.
Attended by young country and city agricultural enthusiasts, the Ekka Ball celebrates the opening of Ekka.
