Showjumping

A highlight of the horse competitions is the Showjumping Competition, which in 1898 was one of the most spectacular attractions held in the Main Arena. Watch in awe as these amazing animals jump to new heights and wow crowds with their athletic feats.

Today, the Showjumping Grand Prix in particular is a favourite with horse lovers and attracts a large crowd.

Important Exhibitor Information

Please note, all horses entering the Brisbane Showgrounds MUST be Hendra vaccinated in accordance with the RNA’s Horse and Arena, and Veterinary, Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Committees regulations.

Hendra Vaccinations must be current, as listed on the Zoetis Vaccination Registry as at August 1 2019.

The first dose of the vaccine Equivac HeV must be done before exhibitors can submit their competition entry form, as it requires your Hendra vaccination microchip number.

The doses and dates are outlined below:

  • First dose
  • Second dose – immunisation to occur 3 to 6 weeks after the first dose is administered and 21 days prior to 1 August 2019. (This information is correct at the time of publishing. If any changes are made, Exhibitors will be duly notified).

Following the first dose, please also follow up with your vet to make sure they’ve registered your horse/s on the Zoetis Vaccination Registry.
