Competition Overview 

Thoroughbred Day showcases the beauty and versatility of thoroughbred horses with the sought-after title of Supreme Champion Thoroughbred up for grabs. This is one of Ekka's most glamorous competitions, with men and women wearing formal race attire as they lead their horses into the arena. This competition covers a total of 15 classes - led and under saddle.

In 2021, Thoroughbred Day will include a NEW Showjumping class, with bonus prize money for the highest placed Thoroughbred.

Please note, all horses entering the Brisbane Showgrounds MUST be Hendra vaccinated in accordance with the RNA’s Horse and Arena, and Veterinary, Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Committees regulations.
