Media Accreditation

Media Accreditation

MEDIA ACCREDITATION IS NOW CLOSED

Media accreditation for the state’s most iconic event - The Royal Queensland (Ekka) Show - is now closed.

All representatives planning on reporting on the Ekka are required to apply for media accreditation.

Please note for late applications for Media Accreditation please contact the Ekka Media Unit on 3253 3900.

This accreditation provides exclusive access to the media centre, internet connection, lockers, daily program updates and news.

The Ekka is Queensland’s largest annual event, drawing more than 400,000 visitors each year. It remains a Queensland institution since the first show in 1876, and continues to recognise and reward the best of the best.

With 10,000 animals, more than 21,000 competition entries, world-class entertainment, incredible food and wine and show bags, the Ekka is a tradition not to be missed, a once a year city / country extravaganza. It’s the true heartbeat of Queensland.

Media accreditation kits including passes will be mailed to approved applicants approximately two weeks prior to the show opening.

Media accreditation closes early July 2016, so don’t miss out on your pass to Queensland’s most loved event which runs from August 5-14, 2016.

Vehicle Access / Parking for TV Crews

Every effort will be made to provide onsite vehicle access for TV news and programming crews carrying out crosses and filming. Due to limited available space, vehicle access passes must be requested by contacting the Ekka Media Unit directly. Approved media vehicles are to park in the allocated and marked 'media parking' spaces only, unless otherwise advised to accommodate live broadcasting.

Ekka Media Centre Facilities

The Ekka Media Centre provides accredited media with exclusive access to internet connection, phones, lockers and refreshments. Daily program updates and news will be available at the Media Centre and staff will be on hand to assist journalists wherever possible to ensure they find stories and talent that are of interest to them.

How to Apply

In order to apply for media accreditation all applications must be accompanied by a portrait sized headshot to be uploaded as part of the normal online process.

Please note, applications without a headshot will not be able to be considered for approval.
